Love Dare & Snow Day

"Kindness is love in action. If patience is how love reacts in order to minimize a negative circumstance, kindness is how love acts to maximize a positive circumstance. Patience avoids a problem; kindness creates a blessing."

-The Love Dare - Day 2
Perform a random act of kindness... I'll have to think on this one since distance is a problem.

Another snow day. I think we should just call it a school year and come back in August.

Love Dare

"Love works. It is life's most powerful motivator and has far greater depth and meaning than most people realize. It always does what is best for others and can empower us to face the greatest of problems. We are born with a lifelong thirst for love. Our hearts desperately need it like our lungs need oxygen. Love changes our motivation for living. Relationships become meaningful with it. No marriage is successful without it."
-The Love Dare - Day 1

To me it's simple, end each email, each conversation with those simple words. Tell children and spouses you love them. Everyone's heart needs to hear those words.

Snow Day!

Another snow day at the Abraham household. When will it be spring?

Friday, January 8, 2010

BRRRRRRRRR!

To say it's cold here is an understatement.
There is enough snow here.
Winer can be over with.
I'd be fine with that.

20 Things About 2009

I found this on another site and thought I'd share mine...

1. What did you do in 2009 that you've never done before?
I ran in two 5k races with my two best friends. Granted, I didn't finish first, second, or even third. That wasn't my goal by any means. I simply wanted to run in one and I did. Hopefully I will run in a few more this spring/summer/fall.

2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions and will you make more this year?
I don't make New Year's Resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My best college friend gave birth to a beautiful girl in March. In July a co-worker gave birth to a hansome little man and in August another friend gave birth to her second son.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
I can't say anyone close to me died, but there were a couple of tragic deaths close to people I am friends with.

5. What places have you visited?
My family and I went to the Hills and Omaha.

6. What would you like in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Well, in 2010 I would like my family to be together for the holidays. Holidays aren't the same when there are people missing.

7. What date from 2009 will be etched in your memory and why?
September 20th... Activation Ceremony and last night home with my husband.

8. What was your biggest achievement this year?
My biggest achievement is doing the things people doubted me doing.

Paying bills... isn't that where it always goes?

11. What song will remind you of 2009?
......

12. What do you wish you would have done more of?
I wish I would sat back and enjoyed life a little bit more. I always feel so rushed and obligated to go places or to please others. I wish I would have just relaxed and did things for myself or tell others no.

13. What do you wish you would have done less of?
Worry. I don't think I can get rid of that. I worry about every.little.thing!

Desperate Housewives... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

The Choice by Nicholas Sparks.

16. What was your favorite film of the year?
By far... The Blind Side. I'm looking forward to it coming out on DVD!!!

17. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
For my birthday, my bestie made me supper and cake. I turned 27 years young.

18. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had bronchitis in November, but I consider that pretty lucky.

19. What political issue stirred you the most?
The War issue. Enough said.

20. Who was the best new person you met?
I've actually been able to meet a lot of "best" new persons through this deployment. It's too bad I had to meet them this way, but I'm a firm believer God has a plan or a reason for everything He does. I'm blessed He's put them in my life.
