It's Almost Time...

Dear Lord:
Give me the strength to say goodbye.
Hold back the tear in my eye.
Cure my insomnia so that I may sleep alone.
Give me a reason to awake when I've none.
Dear Lord:Please help me pace myself.
Allow me to turn to you for help.
And please let me be strong for him.
Even if I've reached the brim.
Dear Lord:Please make time go fast.
I don't know how long I can last.
This is the hardest time of my life, But this is my job: the soldier's wife.
Dear Lord:Let them all stay strong.
Give them the will to go on.
And Lord, Please bring back all our men.
In the name of our country.
Amen.

Just thinking...

Do you ever get a nervous feeling?
A feeling that won't go away until things are right again?
A feeling that makes your guts twist and turn?
A feeling that makes you break down and cry? And cry? And cry?
Are you ever scared?
Scared of the unknown?
Scared to come home one day and find an unknown car parked in front to tell you bad news?
Scared to move on with your life without him?
Have you ever felt lonely?
So lonely you sleep with a shirt of his?
So lonely sit and look at photo albums just to remember his face?
Do you ever have sleepless nights?
Lie awake and wonder what tomorrow will bring?
Lie awake wondering if your child will remember her daddy?

Oh Toys!

Tonight we went on a shopping spree! This is what we got! I'm so excited!!!

A basketball hoop... Grandpa Tom is going to be so proud!

This cool slide (not the kids or the grown man)!

And the best....

This huge house that she can grow into! Again, the kids were not part of the purchase!

So, next time you see us outside, please feel free to come play with us!

Choices

When Heath signed up for the Guards, it was a choice. He knew fully well of the possibilities that came with the Guards: touring different countries, meeting new people, and yes, war.

When Heath and I married, I knew Guards was a part of his life; I made that choice to say yes and make it a part of my life as well. Again, I was quite aware of the possibilities; him missing out on our child's (children's) lives, doing household things without him, celebrating holidays without him, becoming a plumber, mechanic, shoveling snow, mowing lawns, and of course, feeding his dog. But, that was a choice I made.

Now that the time has come for him to leave, I do not want pity. I do not want people to feel sorry for me. Yes, I may cry once in awhile in public because I am a very emotional person, but please don't feel sorry for me. The only thing I ask is that you respect our choices.

Photoshop Class

As a teacher, I need 6 credits every 5 years in order to renew my teaching certificate. Well, I figured I'd better finish now otherwise I'd put it off and forget about it. The art teacher at DRHS offered a Photoshop class. I LOVE taking pictures so why not be able to work with them and make them neat? Well.... this is what I did...

We did other things like make a cover for a CD case, animation, and posters. I had a lot of fun and learned how to make photos fun!

It's Been Too Long!

I know... It's been a LONG time since I've been on here. Honestly, I really haven't been up to much. But here's what has happened in my life....

At the end of May, we took our first family vacation. We went to the Black Hills and made some wonderful family memories. I think it's absoutely beautiful there and would love to live there only... I'd only come to the east side of the river once a year. I do NOT enjoy that ride. I find it rather boring to say the least. Bear Country was by far my most favorite part of the trip.

My cousin got married the first weekend of June. The wedding was simple, but nice. Braelyn thought she was cool stuff and tried to do the chicken dance. That was quite hilarious and someday, when time allows, Tracy is going to show me how to upload a video.

I've been busy working these past two weeks. I FINALLY received some technology in my classroom and I'm beyond excited to start the school year so I can use it! My teammates and I are busy getting lessons loaded and making them exciting for the students. Who are we kidding? I think we're going to be more excited than the kids!

This week I'm taking a course on photoshop. It's so much fun to play with the pictures. This is going to be Heath's Father's Day gift (part of it... he already purchased a navigation device for himself). I think it turned out rather neat if I must say so.

Well, that's all I have for now.
