I love my occupation for a number of reasons. One of the main reasons is because I get to be a positive influence on kids' lives. Another reason is because I get to watch children grow and learn. My heart just swells when I see the joy in their faces when they understand something or do something they say they couldn't. Even though my job doesn't pay much, the reward of making a difference in the kids' lives is priceless.
Well, 28 teaching days remain. Two of those days we will have a field day and a field trip. Three of those days I will be taking off to spend time with my family. It's hard for me to think the year is almost over with. Looking back, I had so much fun with this bunch of kids. There are so many wonderful memories I have with them. I'm sure I'll miss them this summer, but spending every day with Braelyn, doing things we want to do, is the best.

It's Here!
This was my BIG purchase last month. I LOVE it! I should have taken a picture of the inside because there are compartments to organize all of my stuff.

Proud Mommy
To say this little girl likes books wouldn't be telling the truth. She LOVES books. She loves to look at the pictures, hear the words, answer and ask questions, and "read" certain words. She'll even read Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See (I know it's memorized, but she's proud when I ask her to read it to me). I know how important it is to encourage little ones to read and research shows children who are read to are most likely to become good readers themselves. I just hope that's the case for this little one. Monday, March 22, 2010
Little Miss Flower Girl
On Saturday we went shopping for a flower girl dress for my brother's wedding in July. Oh joy! Here are a few pictures from that day.

6 Down!
This is what I've learned in the past 6 months:
1. I am strong.
2. I am a good mother.
3. I can juggle parenting (both mother and father), a job that requires time outside of 8-4, grocery shopping, paying bills, housework, and taking care of dogs all the while keeping my sanity.
4. I NEED my husband to help me with all but one of those from above.
5. People don't always mean it when they say they'll be there for you.
6. Some people come out and let you know they care for you and are praying for you and truly mean it.
7. My love for my husband can grow.
8. We are lucky to live in a nation that is free. We get to choose our occupations, go to school, etc.
9. I am extremely thankful for all military men and women who defend our country.
10. I can do anything with God's help!

Why?
Why do I find it so hard to spend money on myself? Yes I purchase clothes on a regular basis, but I'm a teacher, my clothes often get stained or ruined or shrink because I wash them so often. Plus, clothes are a necessity. Anyways, I made a purchase. This was a want, not a need. A purchase that I'd normally NEVER spend that kind of money on one. But, for once, I feel I deserve it and that's how I'm justifying it. What is it?... You'll have to wait until it arrives...
